Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their super natural powers for the first time. They were instead at first the closest of friends and working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon when they were not archenemies. One month before the release of X-Men: The Last Stand, in april 2006, writer Zak Penn revealed he was contracted to write and direct a spin-off. Principal photography of this film began on August 31, 2010, in Oxford, England, which included St Aldate's street and some of the University of Oxford's buildings, lasting for two days. Then Production moved to Pinewood Studios in Iver and to Georgia in October, including Jekyll Island, Thunderbolt and Savannah. Finally additional location shooting will take place in Russia.
